With the significant media coverage, they have implemented some new measures to put tourists at ease with what has been transpiring.

Here are some of the things they have implemented:

  1. Increased hotel inspections;

  2. More monitoring measures to medical facilities located within hotels; and,

  3. New emergency tourist center

The FBI went to DR to examine what has transpired, and although the cases have been that tourists of have died of natural causes, the FBI was brought in to examine the last 3 reported deaths and have looked into toxicology reports.

The DR officials, also have called in the ATF and the CDC to assist in the investigation."We have unequivocally shown that there is not an avalanche of deaths of American tourists in the country and it is not true that there are mysterious deaths," Dominican Republic Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia said during a recent press conference with national and international media.
