TIPS | How to protect personal items when traveling
I recently traveled to Europe where I was told to watch out for pickpockets. I did not realize that in the major cities of Europe, it was a huge issue with tourists, so I was a bit worried about how to do that. I know that carrying a bag cross way on your body is one way, but what was told to me was there is technology that can be pressed against you, or very close to you and read the information right off of your credit cards. Flabbergasted, I decided to do some research to see what exactly these devices were and how I can protect myself when I travel.
I stumbled across Freedom Travel Gear, where I was able to locate RFID protection for my credit cards on their site. Their website has a lot of travel gear that is great for the traveler, whether it is essentials such as packing cubes for your suitcase, or in my case protection from RFID skimming, they have some great essentials that are needed when preparing for any venture away from home.
In particular it was important for me to understand what this RFID skimming really was and how important is it for me to have it for my cards.
Below I found this neat photo that sums up RFID in a cool way that easily explains the process and what it is from https://www.ifsecglobal.com I hope with this information you will be able to decide if you should protect yourself from RFID skimming.
