TRAVEL TIPS | Healthy tips while traveling

We all know that traveling is absolutely amazing and fun. We have a routine in place to ensure we get the beach body ready for our vacation so our photos can be Instagram worthy. However, the amount of work to get our bodies to where we want it to be, takes a lot of hard work and requires some discipline while on the go.

We listed some helpful tips to stay on track while vacationing below:

  1. Balance

While it is exciting that you have booked an all inclusive vacation where you don’t have to worry where your next meal is coming from, and all the deliciousness of the buffet, we encourage you to workout at least 30 mins a day so that you are not adding the extra pounds and not working towards keeping it off.

  2. Walk everywhere

If your hotel or accommodations is in the downtown core, or in the city where you can get to places by walking or riding a bicycle, we encourage you to walk to increase those steps and get your cardio intake

  3. Limit alcohol consumption to every other day

No one is telling you that you cannot drink alcohol. Those cocktails are there to consume, but to do so in moderation. Those drinks have a lot of sugar so to ensure you are keeping in line with your routine, stick to drinking those sugary drinks every other day if you must.

4. Stay hydrated - drink lots of water

So if you are not drinking alcohol or not drinking it as often as you would like, it is super important to stay hydrated by drinking a ton of water. This will also curb your cravings of wanting to eat a lot of food. To spice up your water, add a lemon so it can resemble that of a cocktail if your friends are consuming those cute drinks by the pool.

5. Vitamins

Your vitamins are super important when traveling, especially because we know your diet will not consist of your regimented routine that you have back home. One of the ways to maintain your digestive and immune system in check is to travel with your Vitamin C and Probiotic to ensure a healthy gut flow. Pack just enough for the days you will be there.

6. Snacks

We have expressed in one of our previous posts about the importance of snacks. We can’t stress it enough the importance of having some snacks like a pack of oatmeal, granola bars or even protein bars to name a few. You definitely need to be travel ready with these travel friendly options.

7. Exercise Equipment

This can absolutely be a great option if your space while traveling, does not have a hotel. Packing resistance bands, or even a jump rope, etc, can help tremendously in getting your workout in regardless of where you are.

8. Breakfast

Start your daily regimen with a whole hearty breakfast so you won’t feel the need to snack as much when you are out enjoying your vacation.

9. Stretch

Each night you should dedicate 10-15 mins to stretch and meditate to calm the body and mind.

10. Hotel Rooms with a Kitchen

10. If you are not on an all-inclusive vacation, booking a hotel room that has a kitchen is very beneficial and assists with the healthy options of eating. Heading to the grocery store and preparing your own meals can really assist with the consumption of food types, and discipline as well your pockets. A win-win for all.

We hope these 10 options we have listed above really help you to figure out how to stay healthy while traveling, and we would love to know from you.
